Books have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. By the time I was in elementary school, I was the kid who left the library every Friday with a stack of books—and had them all read by Monday. That lifelong love of reading grew into writing, teaching, and eventually a career helping others bring clarity and polish to their own words.

In my early career, I worked as a secretary and later as a paralegal, where every piece of legal correspondence and documentation had to be flawless before it left the office. That role sharpened my eye for detail and taught me the importance of consistency, accuracy, and professionalism in written communication.

For over fifteen years, I also homeschooled and taught in co-op settings, creating and teaching a wide range of English and social studies electives. During that time, I became the go-to person for spotting errors, advising on content, and proofreading everything from résumés and college application essays to blog posts and creative projects.

I’ll admit it—I’m one of those people who actually gets excited about taking proofreading courses, a 1,200-page style manual like The Chicago Manual of Style, or the perfect dictionary. I love the process of organizing my workspace, resources, and personal library so everything is ready to help words shine. It might sound quirky, but that enthusiasm is exactly what I bring to every project.

Today, as a professional proofreader and editor, I combine that detail-loving mindset with a genuine care for the people behind the words. Whether it’s a manuscript, academic paper, or business content, my goal is simple: to help your writing communicate effectively and make the best possible impression.

I’m a lifelong Alaskan, wife and mother, an owner of two small businesses, and an avid reader who also runs a bookstagram account—a place for me to share reviews, themed book stacks, and a bit of literary whimsy. Words have always been at the center of my life, and helping others make the most of theirs is both my passion and my profession.
